Associate Professor in System Integration

I am Ola Dahl, lektor in System integration, belonging to Computer Engineering division.

Before joining Linköping University, I worked at ST-Ericsson in Lund, Sweden, as senior staff engineer. I was mainly in charge of the development of virtual platforms to to be able to simulate complicated hardware systems for software development in early phase. Meanwhile, I was also involved in system design work for advanced modem systems such as 3GPP LTE.

Before that I have been working both in industry and in university, mostly in the areas of software development, real-time systems, system simulation, and control system design.

I live in Linköping since Christmas 2010, together with my fiancée Annika. We have two children, in their early twenties: Max who lives in Malmö and Emma who currently lives in Munich, Germany.

I enjoy being a part of the computer engineering division here at ISY, where I participate in teaching, in project courses for Y and D, and in Switching theory and Logical Design for D. I have developed a new course in Computer Engineering and Real-time Systems, which was given for the first time during the second half of the fall semester 2011.

My current research interests are in the areas of system modeling and simulation for embedded systems, with a special consideration for the interplay between hardware and software. I am a member of the HiPEAC network, where I expect to participate in areas such as concurrent and parallel programming, system engineering, simulation and modeling. I am also looking for contacts inside LiU, both within and outside of ISY.
